How does a family ever recover from discovering that someone they love is a killer? How does a wife or a girlfriend ever reconcile the guilt or betrayal, or begin to understand what lead their lover to become a murderer? Adrian Prout's wife, Kate, mysteriously disappeared on bonfire night 2005. Despite not being able to find Kate's body, two years later police charged Adrian with Kate's murder.

Journalist Louise Hulland will interview Prout's former fiancee, Debbie Garlick, who met Adrian while he was on bail awaiting trial. She believed the man she loved was innocent but after a shock confession to her, took the decision to tell police.
