Their spores and variations in their growth rate have enabled us to: reveal timings of disturbances at crime scenes; show contact between people, objects, and places; estimate post mortem interval; demonstrate cause of death. Cyber-Stalking: Why Everyone can be Vulnerable & the Online Traps

With cyberstalking on the increase and more sophisticated online tools becoming available at the touch of a button, how easy is it for would-be stalkers to find out about your life and what can we do about it?

Over 7 million people experience cyberstalking each year and 80% of all stalking victims are tracked using technology. And nobody is immune. Just last year, the story broke of celebrity Holly Willoughby being ‘stalked’ by a predator. So severe was his actions and intent to kidnap and murder Holly, that the perpetrator, Gavin Plumb, has received a life sentence, even though he was caught before committing the crime.

We chat to ex Scotland Yard detective, Phillip Grindell and renowned Professor of cyberpsychology, Emma Short, to discover exactly what tools are available to predators online, how easy it is to obtain information just like Gavin Plumb did and we delve into the mind of people who stalk from behind a keyboard. When does this kind of crime transition from a fixation to a real life threat?
