Steve Keogh, Kerry Daynes & Geoffrey Wansell
Chair: Louise Hulland

What makes a killer notorious? What is it about certain killers that they can capture the attention of the world? Why does talk about Fred and Rose West or Denis Nilsen today still send shivers down spines around the world, yet other criminals live behind bars without any attention?  In this panel, we look at what makes a case captures the attention of the world and what makes them memorable. What characteristics do we find particularly haunting? Is it the number of kills? Is it the brutality of the kill? The charisma of the killer? What makes a case so haunting that stick so firmly in the public contagiousness?
