Phelan Glen

Phelan Glen has created, developed, and produced films for all the major broadcasters, including Netflix, Sky, HBO, BBC, Channel 4, and ITV. She was named a 'Broadcast Hot Shot' in 2018 and was selected as 'One to Watch' as part of the 2021 Edinburgh TV Festival's talent scheme. Her Netflix series 'GET GOTTI' trended number 1 in 44 countries, including both the UK and US.

Over the past decade, Phelan has become known for winning sensitive access and gaining the trust of key contributors that have blown both old and new stories open. She has won funding for her development ideas, secured unscripted commissions, and is currently developing a six-part dramedy series with BBC Studios.



Phelan Glen says: “What’s brilliant about The Body Next Door is that it is so much more than a straight true crime doc. At its heart, it is a story about families, about intergenerational trauma, and about the secrets we keep. It was these very rich themes that drew me to this story in the first place, particularly the relationship between the Sabine children and their mother. I was keen to explore the role of the mother, what it meant for Leigh to be a mother, for her children to grow up without one and indeed to go on to become parents themselves. Would they break the cycle of abandonment they suffered or perpetuate it?”
