He spent a significant period deployed overseas, before becoming Deputy Head of the International Liaison Section at Scotland Yard. During the Olympics he served as the Intelligence Duty officer. At the conclusion of the Olympics, he was appointed Senior Investigating Officer for the VIP Paedophile Enquiry, for which he was commended by Sir Richard Henriques and The Home Affairs Select Committee.
