Lynne Williams is a key member of the Beddau community, known for her heart of gold and willingness to help anyone in need. She is friends with Mary West and is acquainted with the wider group of girls and neighbours, including Rhian and Michelle Williams.
Lynne first met Leigh Sabine while visiting her mother in the hospital. Despite her mother's warnings about Leigh's unpleasant nature, Lynne befriended her. She often brought Leigh small gifts and visited her at her flat. Leigh would joke, "I used to be a nurse, you know - I’ve lots of skeletons in my closet," and they’d all laugh together.
Lynne was present when Leigh died, holding her hand in the hospice as she took her last breath. She also organised the spread for Leigh’s funeral, demonstrating her deep compassion and sense of duty towards friends.
Lynne witnessed her neighbour Michelle Williams being wrongfully arrested for the murder of Leigh Sabine. Michelle had discovered the body in Leigh's garden and was accused of the crime, although she found the body because Leigh had told her it was a medical skeleton. This wrongful accusation had a devastating impact on Michelle’s life, and all the 'girls' in the community were outraged.
Lynne, who had cleaned Leigh Sabine's flat unaware it would later be identified as a crime scene, felt deeply for Michelle.
Throughout the investigation, Lynne was actively involved in helping the police piece together the clues. Her familiarity with Leigh's flat and her observations became invaluable to the investigation. Lynne speculated that Leigh had kept the body under the divan bed and likely fell over when trying to move it for the last time.
To seek closure, Lynne visited a popular spiritualist in Beddau, where Leigh purportedly came through and ungratefully remarked, "You took it upon yourself to do all the things you did for me." Despite this, Lynne feels she has made her peace with the situation and stands by her actions, believing she did the right thing in trying to help.
