TV Host, producer and philanthropist
Eva La Rue is an Emmy Award winning actress, TV Host, producer and philanthropist. Long known and well respected for her work on the internationally successful crime drama CSI: Miami, and a veteran of dozens of TV and film productions, she is also well known for her work on the daytime drama All My Children.
In her personal life Eva and her daughter were stalked for 12 years. They were subjected terrifying letters, with the sender threatening to kidnap, rape, torture, and kill them.
The FBI collected DNA from the stalker from the letters for more than a decade until 2019, when he was finally arrested. The case was solved using the same new Forensic Genealogy Technology used to solve the Golden State Killer case.
Following the trial, LaRue has become an advocate for victims of stalking and harassment, speaking out about her experience and the need for stronger legal protections for victims. The case was precedent setting for the FBI, and brought media attention to the issue of stalking and the challenges faced by victims seeking legal protection and justice.
Eva is also one of the national Spokespersons for the Tahirih Justice Center, providing pro bono legal counsel to women and girls seeking asylum from gender-based violence and sex trafficking.
