Common Questions

See some common questions and answers below, or contact us here.
  • What is the difference between Standard & VIP badges?

STANDARD badges get you access to all sessions except for VIP sessions. Unlike a typical "Con" there are no fees for additional things during the Con. Things like meet & greets, book signings, etc. are all included. The only things that a STANDARD badge will not get you in to are VIP-only events. This includes most food and beverage based sessions, like dinners, plus some programming.

  • Does the ticket price include accommodations and meals?

No, meals and hotel are not included in the ticket price. We do have a discounted rate at our host hotel, The Hilton New Orleans Riverside, that can be booked here. Dinner is provided for VIP ticket holders only on Saturday night.

  • Do I have to stay at the host hotel?

No, but you'll miss all of the amazing things that happen in the hallways, bars, and restaurants if you don't! We like to say that 75% of the CrimeCon experience can be planned in advance because it happens in the ballrooms, but the other 25% is all about the impromptu moments that happen in the hotel. Don't miss out!

  • Is parking provided?

CrimeCon attendees receive a discounted rate of $25/day (regularly $44) to park at the hotel.

  • For the sake of booking travel, what time can I expect CrimeCon to start and end?

The convention will officially begin around 12:30pm on Friday, June 7th and end around 1:00pm on Sunday, June 9th. It is possible that separately ticketed events could be added prior to the start time on Friday or after the end time on Sunday.

  • When will I receive my badge(s)?

Badges are picked up onsite during registration and will NOT be mailed out prior. To pick up your badge, please bring a copy of your confirmation email and a photo ID.

  • Can I cancel or change my tickets?

Any registrant can upgrade to another package at any time by paying the difference between the price of the new package (at the time of the upgrade) and the price they originally paid.

No refunds are permitted, but registrants who can no longer attend have two options: a) A badge transfer to another person ($20 fee per badge applies); or b) Receive a voucher code for 100% of the amount paid, which can be used against any future CrimeCon event. Both options require that you notify us as least 24 hours before the start of the event. Please read the full Terms & Conditions on the registration page for all the details.

  • What is the dress code?

The dress code for the convention itself is casual.

In the event that any other nighttime events have separate dress codes, it would be detailed on the registration page for that event.

Cosplay (or dressing up in theme or as a character) is prohibited as creating an environment of respect and learning is paramount. If you have any questions on what may or may not be allowed inside the space please email us in advance to discuss.

  • Do you offer discounts for groups, students, law enforcement or military?

We do offer discounts on Standard tickets (no VIP) for students, teachers, law enforcement & military personnel. Please contact us if you qualify.

If you have a group of 10+, please contact us  for special pricing.

  • What should I bring to CrimeCon?

In order to pick up your badge, please bring a copy of your confirmation email and a photo ID.

We also suggest you pack comfortable shoes, a sweatshirt or sweater (New Orleans in June is hot but hotel ballrooms are not!), snacks, a reusable water bottle and obviously, a camera!

  • Can I volunteer?

Yes, please! CrimeCon wouldn't be possible without our volunteers. If you want a less expensive way in, this is it. We'll trade work for badges--just fill out THIS FORM and we'll be in touch.

  • Do you offer Media Credentials?

Yes, we do provide a limited amount of credentials to select media. Please fill out our media form to have someone contact you.

  • Can I be a speaker at CrimeCon New Orleans?

Please fill out our guest inquiry form and we will be in touch if we see a possible fit.

  • I'm a true crime content creator (like a podcaster, blogger, writer, or filmmaker) and I'd like to be at CrimeCon.

Part of our mission is to help fans discover a bunch of new content and creators to add to the watching, listening, and reading portfolio. Please contact us to talk more.
