Cass is a former Detective Sergeant and CSI in the Metropolitan Police London who retired after 30 years of service. He is also the Former Vice President and Honorary Fellow of the UK Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.
Cass served on the Scotland Yard Homicide Unit and the Serious Crime Forensic Investigation team dealing with murder, attempted murder, unexplained death and mass disaster scenes. He worked on both the Paddington rail crash at the scene and the 7/7 Terrorist bombings in the mortuary alongside Forensic Pathologists, advising and collecting forensic samples to identify bodies and explosive remains.
Cass has presented lectures on crime scene interpretation/investigation at conferences in the UK, Europe, United Arab Emirates and America.
Since 1998, Cass has worked with Lynda La Plante as a researcher and crime drama advisor for her TV productions and books. He has also advised extensively on scripts and on set for television dramas made for ITV, BBC, Chanel 4, and film companies.
