Criminal Barrister & TV Crime Consultant

Before becoming a barrister, Jeanette had a previous career in the Police Force and also spent time working as a Detective for a specialist team at the UK Home Office investigating complex OCG's. During her time at The Home Office, Jeanette was also appointed to the Fugitives Unit, travelling abroad and working in partnership with agencies such as Europol, Interpol and the NCA. Since becoming a Barrister, Jeanette has also worked for The Crown Prosecution Service as a Crown Prosecutor and an Investigative Lawyer for the SFO.

Within Jeanette's practise as a Criminal Barrister, she has often been called on in local and national press recently appearing as a 'Expert' on 'Meet, Marry, Murder' for the Crime & Investigation Channel/Netflix discussing a double murder she was involved..

 

Jeanette has her own TV Crime Consultancy where she consults TV dramas involving Crime/Courts. Her most recent credits have included Jimmy McGovern's BBC Prison Drama 'Time', ‘Happy Valley’ and upcoming shows such as the BBC's 'The Gold 2', ITV's 'A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story', ITV's 'Grace’, Netflix ‘Toxic Town’, ITV’s ‘Playing Nice' and she is currently working closely and advising the team who are making ‘I Fought The Law’  the true story of the Murder of Julie Hogg from the book adaption of Ann Ming’s 'For the Love of Julie' where Ann will be played by Sheridan Smith. 

 

Jeanette has also produced a number of true crime/non scripted shows for A & E Networks, 'Accused: Guilty or Innocent' and for c5 'Suspect No1' and 'Police Hour of Duty' and is the resident Legal Consultant on Coronation Street.
