About Natalie Schilling:

Natalie Schilling is a Professor of Linguistics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is internationally recognized for her research on language variation and change. She regularly teaches Sociolinguistics (language and society) and Forensic Linguistics and has given more than 100 presentations at U.S. and international academic conferences, university academic departments, and forensic linguistics training workshops on the scientific analysis of language evidence. Her audiences have ranged from the FBI (NCAVC, BAU-1) to incarcerated persons in maximum security prison. She has served as a forensic linguistics expert in cases ranging form authorship attribution to speaker profiling. 

Natalie has been played on TV twice--once in Criminal Minds (the character Alex Blake was partly based on Natalie) and once in the recent Manhunt: Unabomber series, where 'Natalie Rogers' was based on the real Natalie.

About Barbara Trathen:

Barbara spent over twenty years as a prosecuting attorney, including four years with a specialty in the investigation and trial presentation of homicide cases. Prior to that she was the lead prosecutor in several high-profile murder cases, as well as the co-prosecutor in the Mike Tyson rape trial. Barbara was also a technical advisor for the crime drama Close to Home, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, which was based in part on her early years as a prosecutor.

About Leslie Dye:

Dr. Leslie R. Dye, MD is board certified in emergency medicine and medical toxicology. Dr. Dye graduated from the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine and her fellowship in Medical Toxicology and Hyperbaric medicine at the University of Cincinnati. She was an associate professor in emergency medicine and Pharmacology/Toxicology at Wright State University. She is the immediate past president of the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) and is a fellow of ACMT and of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT). Dr. Dye is the Editor-in-Chief, Emeritus of the Journal of Medical Toxicology, the official journal of ACMT and the Editor-in-Chief of Point of Care Content for Elsevier. She also practices addiction medicine. In addition to numerous book chapters and other extensive publishing in the scientific literature, Dr. Dye is the senior editor for the textbook, “Case Studies in Medical Toxicology.” She is a true crime follower and is particularly interested in crimes that involve poisoning. She lives on a farm in rural Ohio with her husband and two German Wirehaired pointers. Her husband is very nice to her.. and sleeps with one eye open.

President of North Carolina based firm Laura Pettler & Associates Death Investigations that specializes in solving cold case and hot case staged murders specifically related to intimate partner and domestic violence homicide, such as suicides, accidents, naturals, undetermined, missing persons, intimate partner serial homicide cases and sexual homicides. Laura and her team analyze the physical and behavioral evidence in death cases, conduct interviews, reconstruct bloodstain patterns, bullet paths, wound paths from evidence in the scene combined with personality traits, emotionality, cognition, and behaviors of those involved.

Laura is the author of the first book in the world on crime scene staging entitled, Crime Scene Staging Dynamics in Homicide Cases, and is currently working on the second edition along with her Memoir.

Laura is also the inventor of The Kaleidoscope System Shooting and Bloodstain Crime Scene Reconstruction System sold in more than 30 countries. Laura was the Director of North Carolina's first and only Crime Scene Reconstruction and Behavioral Analysis program in history based in Prosecutorial District 20A and was the Director of its former Cold Case Task Force until 2010.
